F-16 Cockpit Plans

Designed by Alert 5 Design Studio, the F-16 Cockpit Plans provide a highly detailed, modular foundation for builders looking to create an accurate and immersive Viper simulator. These plans are the result of extensive research, prototyping, and real-world fabrication experience, refined to balance realism with practical home-build construction methods.

Version 2 represents a major expansion of the original design and is being released in an early-access format. All existing customers will receive the update automatically, and all new orders will include Version 2 going forward.

What’s New in Version 2

Version 2 significantly expands the digital deliverables, adding over 50 new 3D-printable part files designed to integrate directly with the existing cockpit structure.

New additions include:

• 3D-printed DZUS rails and newly redesigned modular consoles, allowing builders to adapt the cockpit to different F-16 blocks or personal preferences
  
  
• Detailed 3D-print skin panel STL files for enhanced visual realism
  
  
• Aft glare shields
  
  
• Map case
  
  
• Handles, vents, and assorted cockpit hardware
  
  
• Simplified HUD assembly
  
  
• Stowage boxes and organizational components
  
  

These parts are designed to complement the existing CAD framework while giving builders more flexibility, fidelity, and customization options.

• 3D CAD files (STEP and STL) for CNC fabrication and 3D printing

Coming Soon

The following items are currently in development and will be added to Version 2 at no additional cost as they are finalized:

• Mixed Reality overlay files mapped to the cockpit geometry for complete immersion using the Meta Quest 3

Frame Options

• Standard Frame: Designed around realistic F-16 proportions and suitable for builders approximately 5’4″ to 6’0″.

Footprint: 73inx52in (184cm x 130cm)

• XL Frame: Modified ergonomics and expanded dimensions to accommodate taller builders (up to approximately 6’8″) while preserving correct layout and sightlines.

Footprint: 76inx52in (192cm x 130cm)

These plans are ideal for builders who want a professional-grade foundation while retaining the flexibility to fabricate, modify, and expand over time. As with all Alert 5 Design Studio projects, Version 2 will continue to receive iterative updates and long-term support.
