The Viper Force Transducer Sensor Module is designed for builders who want to integrate true F-16 style force-sensing control into their own custom stick base or cockpit project. This version provides the precision sensor hardware only, without a housing or grip, so you can mount it into your own design and take full advantage of authentic transducer input.
The sensor-only version of the VFT uses similar technology to our Side Stick Controller in a more economical package. It saves you money by allowing you to build your own side stick controller base, reuse an old Thrustmaster Cougar Housing, or build your own custom solution. It does not feature stick deflection, however the sensor module delivers the same smooth, precise control for formation flying, aerial refueling, and precision maneuvering. Once you experience true force-based input, it’s hard to go back to a traditional spring-loaded stick.
Modules ship with our current Gen 5 control board and are set up with the free AIM Cockpit Manager software. Earlier Gen 4 modules use the HOTAS Configurator instead.
⚠️ Mounting Note:

If you’re building a completely custom stick base, this sensor-only version is the right choice. Mounting screw holes are .144" in diameter and are meant for 6-32 socket cap screws, but M3 screws are acceptable. Screws are not included as we do not know what you intend to mount them to.

If you plan to use the original Thrustmaster Cougar housing, you’ll need the dedicated Cougar version. The side stick controller mounted version will not fit.
📐 Important Dimensions:
Check the datasheet before ordering. First generation designs used a 0.97" (25 mm) hole pattern radius, but this sensor follows the real F-16 specification with a true 1.00" (25.4 mm) radius. We no longer offer a solution for 25mm.

Great experience with Invictus VFT for the F-16. The quality, attention to detail, and overall support were excellent. Chris was outstanding to work with—he can handle just about anything you throw at him, and his communication throughout the process was top notch. VFT review
I bought the vft after my fcc2 stopped working due to a problem on the x-axis. The vft arrived in a sturdy green box that protected the contents very well. The box contains the vft, its usb Invictus’s board and the cables for connecting the x/y axes and the stick buttons. I didn't use the Invictus board because I have the F16 simped pedals and I use the stick with a custom cougar macro file as well. My vft is then connected to the TM Cougar board replacing the broken fcc2 and i have to say it works great. The calibration is much more stable and the strain gauges are well protected by a closed cover fixed on the base. Maybe in the future I will try the Invictus usb board too, but at the Moment i'm happy to still have my stick working better than before.
A solid product
I originally purchased the Vipergear product a while back and it really improved the performance of my TM Cougar joystick. However, over time it would lose the calibration and I would have to redo it.
Vipergear was out of business but I discovered Invictus and learned that they had purchased the Vipergear force sensors and would be upgrading them with a higher quality sensor.
I work with Chris (great guy) and when he had the new transducers in stock I ordered the Force Sensor.
I could not be happier with their new product. The force sensor holds the settings (324) and haven't touched them since it was installed. And the joystick is smooth as glass. Great product!
Awesome replacement for Arends FCC mod
Should’ve ordered it right after I broke my FCC modded Cougar and not have messed around with force sensing resistors. The F-16 Viper Force Sensor Modification is perfect. Installation in the Cougar base is very easy.
AAR in DCS or BMS is no longer an ordeal :-)

What i expected
My expectations where so high, i had the patience waiting on it.
And it's worthy.
Already 2 years in use
I bought this product when Vipergear sold it. It is well made and the electronic is as basic as force sensitive products are.
After a week I started having problems with my X-axis. contacted Vipergear and there was no problem getting another one which had the same problem straight away. Because I had direct contact with a Vipergear member (and with my background as an electrical/electronic engineer) we were discussing this problem. I also give him input about what I saw while measuring the VFC.
I found out that one of the force sensors had a broken wire to the pcb, although it look that the soldering was ok.
After fixing this problem I had never ever an connection problem of the X or Y axis.
But...... I still have problems with finding the "right spot" using the old software of the Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS. It is difficult to find a good tweak for using it in Falcon BMS or DCS with the F16.
Now I will try to find another way by using other software to calibrate the unit. Either with an Arduino project with 2 different settings for DCS and Falcon BMS with a GUI or otherwise I have to go back to some other mechanical stick. Time will learn.......

It's a shame their business had to close. Today, we use a 350Ω strain gauge with a .5% tolerance that can hold things a little tighter. Additionally, we are finishing up developing a microcontroller and writing firmware and software to allow us to free ourselves of the old Cougar boards. It's a difficult process because I am not a software or hardware engineer and I'm having to teach myself how to do it well. But it is coming.
Vfs
The object is presented in a very professional and well-kept case. The manufacturing appears to be excellent. I'm building the mounting stand so I haven't tested it yet. I hope that my satisfaction continues even after work.

Invictus VFS
I love this control interface! This is the second VFS I purchased, as I gifted the first one I bought to a fellow pit builder in the Czech Republic. I purchased the first one from the original seller and I'm happy to report that Invictus Cockpit Systems is maintaining the same very high quality manufacturing processes as the original. I'd buy another one, but I'm sure I'll never need a spare!
